AI Productivity ROI Calculator

Turn the hours AI saves you every week into real money. Enter three numbers and instantly see your annual savings, ROI multiple, and how many extra working days you buy back each year.

What the calculator measures

Three inputs drive the result: hours saved per week, annual salary, and the yearly cost of your AI subscriptions. The hourly rate is salary divided by 2,080 working hours. Annual value is saved hours multiplied by 52 weeks and that hourly rate. The page then subtracts tool costs to show net gain, divides the annual value by the subscription spend to get an ROI multiple, and converts saved hours into eight-hour working days.

Reading the ROI multiple

The multiple is more informative than the dollar figure because it survives salary differences. Below 1 means the subscriptions currently cost more than the time they return, which is a reason to consolidate tools or apply them to heavier tasks rather than to cancel everything. A high multiple is not a raise; it is capacity. Decide in advance where the reclaimed hours go, otherwise they disappear into more meetings. The Essential AI Tools Checklist helps you cut overlapping subscriptions.

Where the math is approximate

The calculator assumes saved hours are real and usable, which is often only partly true. Salary is a rough proxy for the value of your time and ignores bonuses, benefits, unpaid overtime, and the fact that some saved hours are not billable. It also treats subscriptions as the only cost, leaving out training time and the effort of checking AI output. Use the result to compare tools or justify a budget, not to claim a precise personal return.
