Task-by-Task AI Replacement Calculator

Pick a preset office job (or add your own tasks), adjust how much time each task takes, and see your weighted AI replacement rate plus the three tasks most exposed to automation.

Time shares are relative weights — they do not need to add up to 100. The recalculation updates live as you type.

How the weighted rate works

Pick one of sixteen preset office jobs or build a custom task list. Each task has an AI-replaceability rating and a time share; the shares are relative weights and do not need to total 100. The weighted rate is the sum of each rating multiplied by its share, divided by the total share. The result is rounded to one decimal, placed in a low-to-extreme band, and paired with the three tasks contributing most to the total.

Reading the result

The top-three list is the action plan. Moving time away from high-rating tasks and into coordination, judgement, or AI operation is the practical lever, and re-running the calculation after a month shows whether the mix actually changed. The advisory text is written for each band, but the composition of your list matters more than the label. If you want a second view of the same situation, compare it with the guide to assessing AI job risk.

What the ratings assume

Replaceability ratings are editorial judgements, not employer data or measured automation rates. The model treats tasks independently, even though real jobs bundle them and a half-automated workflow can still require a person. Time shares are estimates made from memory. The result says something about the shape of your work, not about headcount decisions, budgets, or the likelihood that your specific role will be cut.
